It was worth every single penny! She did an awesome job of fixing the mistakes made by lesser experienced brow waxers I have been to recently.

My favorite thing about Elke was how excited she was about her customers from Living Social, not for one second did I feel like I was receiving a lesser service than a customer paying full price. She also gave me a free sample of her brow scrub, and for a deal seeker anything free is a plus!

With that said, let’s talk about my favorite deal today. Groupon has this awesome deal for paintball and then a beer tasting afterwards. This deal is really cool, it is a great activity now that it is spring and beautiful and it combines two really awesome things into one great day of fun!

A lot of the deals are biased towards things us chicks like to do like spa days and hair salons. This is a great dude friendly deal (not saying us ladies wouldn’t enjoy it).  I think it would be pretty cool to see some more deals for great activities like this one.

Lifebooker Loot is offering a full day of personal styling and shopping with Relic NY founder Janel Molton for $180, normally $600. This is a great deal considering she will discuss budget, needs, and then raid your closet. Once all of the research is done you will begin shopping, now this is where I see this deal becoming budget un-friendly.

I would absolutely love a session with Janel Molton where she could tell me how to use what I already have in my wardrobe and maybe make a few suggestions for key additions. However, a day out shopping with Janel would make me feel pressured into buying things I probably cannot afford.

So ladies, while many of these deals seem great because they are such high discounts, look out for the ones that will cause you to spend additional money when redeeming your purchased deal.

Are you reading this?)

While quite a few sites have been offering plastic surgery deals or laser-eye treatments for quite some time, it stands to reason that deals on classic health care services would also be helpful and get a lot of people interested.  For those with a lack of sufficient insurance, deals like Life Booker’s “Save on Dental Work” deal are either extremely smart or a little creepy.  (Or maybe both?)  But this shouldn’t stop other deal-a-day sites from looking into these kinds of promotions.  After all, until Obama and the naysayers reach a health care deal, it still stands that thousands of Americans could truly benefit from low-cost health care promotions.

So keep ‘em coming.

This week Living Social offered an eyebrow shaping with Elke Von Freudenberg, eyebrow stylist to stars like Kate Moss and Brooke Burke.

Now, my eyebrows are extremely tough to deal with since I have a scar through my right brow from falling off of my tricycle as a kid.  I can never get them to look the same, which made this deal appeal to me immediately.

The deal was $27; this is super expensive for any old eyebrow wax so I thought I should check out what exactly this would get me. The process would be 30 minutes, first Elke would discuss your needs, this is great because most people waxing my brows ignore the scar and just wax the end of my brow right off, next she would wax or tweeze your brows to perfection, and lastly apply a little bit of brow makeup.

Suddenly $27 didn’t seem so bad for this service that normally costs $65. I was sold and purchased this deal with minutes to spare last night.

I will be sure to check-in after my brows have been shaped to let you know if curtains were worth every penny.

This deal reminded me that dinner-and-a-movie deals or dinner-and-a-show-and-a-drink deals would get people that much more involved than just food or just a show.  We’re unsatisfied, hungry, and poor young people over here and we want as much as you can throw at us!  Don’t just spell out a deal, make it seem like something we need to do or else our lives in New York City will be less complete.

Scoop Street had the right idea, but we can do better.

Thus, I am a self-proclaimed deal-a-day aficionado—I visit these sites daily to keep my spending in check, all while continuing to live in the lap of luxury.

Today my favorite deal comes from Dealon- $49 for $150 worth of spa services at Nina’s     European Day Spa & Laser Center. This deal is out of control. For $49 you are lucky to get a mini facial in this city and with $150 worth of spa services you can mix and match from the dozens of spa treatments Nina’s has to offer. My choice would be the deluxe European facial ($75) and a mani/pedi ($55), the perfect amount of pampering before a big night out and this still leaves you with an extra $20 to use on some touching up. A day at the spa is something us monetarily challenged people compromise way too often. So, splurge on yourself a little without breaking the bank using this awesome spa deal. Now, some time for shameless self-promotion, the Daily Flock deal is also really great. My hair is 100% the last thing I am willing to be cheap about and that’s why this deal at Prada Grusel is a no brainer for me-$75 for a cut, Kerastase Treatment, and blow dry, I have paid more for haircut from a beauty school drop out in this city. If you want your hair to look fabulous too pick up this deal here.
